E.) Lightning Ridge Cellars

A small family winery established in 2005, represents years of personal endeavor from the ground up. We’re proud to offer wines based on our Italian heritage. Our estate wines are made from classic Italian varietals: Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano, Primitovo, Malyasia and Muscat Canelli. F.) Rancho Rossa Vineyards

Rancho Rossa Vineyards is one of the largest family owned wineries in Elgin. They produce about 1,200 cases of wine each year from 22 acres of estate fruit. In addition, they do not purchase any fruit or bulk wine from vendors and are the only winery in the area that can say that honestly. Specializing in ultra-premium dry varietals, their whites and reds are aged from two to five years. For their best try the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon; this 100 percent Cabernet is only made in very small lots.

G.) Sonoita Vineyards

Sonoita Vineyards offers an array of award-winning wines ranging from the crisp and fruity to the bold and complex. As the first winery established in Sonoita, their history is as rich as their wines. After establishing their first experimental vineyard in 1973, owners Dr. Gordon Dutt (who was a soil scientist at the University of Arizona) and A. Blake Brophy discovered that the region’s high 5,000 foot altitude and its soil were nearly identical to the soils of Burgundy, France. Today their 20-acre vineyard produces over 10,000 gallons of wine per year.

This winery is also unique in that it still produces wines in the traditional fashion of hand harvesting and sorting, as well as even stomping their reds by foot. Aged in French, Hungarian and American oak, Italian chestnut, stainless steel and plastic barrels, all Village of Elgin wines are bottled with the Stelvin ROPP screw cap to improve overall quality.
